As a partner of Acropolis, Mike is responsible for developing and managing client relationships.  Mike has extensive experience in personal financial planning and managing investment strategies for a variety of situations and organizations.  Mike’s two passions are: helping people who have earned their own money, and assisting business owners prepare for the eventual transition out of their business on their terms.

Mike has over 30 years of financial services experience and has helped clients successfully navigate through a wide variety of market environments.  He is a member of Acropolis’ Investment Committee and contributes to the overall investment strategy of the organization.

Acting as a “Family CFO”, Mike helps self-made individuals, small business owners, executives, and professionals with comprehensive planning around retirement and investing.  He advises on financial matters including:  retirement planning, investing, Social Security, funding health care, stock option analysis, maximizing employer benefits, charitable gifting strategies, estate planning needs, debt management, risk management (insurance), tax planning, banking needs, trust administration, and income and cash-flow management.

For business owners, Mike assists owners with how to prepare their company for the eventual ownership transition on their terms and timeline, including the strategy for selling their business.

Mike performs portfolio analysis, directs the firm’s financial modeling efforts, and leads the Retirement Planning/401(k) line of business.

Local media appearances include news segments on KTVI Fox St. Louis, KPLR 11 St. Louis, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the St. Louis Business Journal, and St. Louis Small Business Monthly.

Prior to joining Acropolis, Mike spent thirteen years in the financial services practice at Accenture.  As a Senior Manager, Mike led projects in retail and investment banking, with an emphasis on high-net-worth private banking.

From a charitable perspective, Mike likes to focus his time, talent, and treasure on entrepreneurship, education, faith, and support of the troops.  Outside of Acropolis, Mike is actively involved in the community, serving on the following boards and community activities:

  • Entrepreneurs Organization. Various years starting in 2004 – Current.  Leadership:  Finance Chair
  • St. Charles Community College:
    • 2002 – 2020, Foundation Board
    • 2020 – Current, Trustee
  • St. Louis Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute. 2014 – Current.  Leadership:  Vice-President

He is a St. Louis native and enjoys spending time with his kids, playing bridge, traveling, and being on the water.

Mike earned a B.S.B.A. in Computer Science (Mathematics) from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) professional, and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).
